Designed for day-to-day foot care nursing
Offloading Essentials — Clinical Foundations for Foot Care Nurses is an online continuing education course for foot care nurses, Foot Health Practitioners and other clinically trained foot health professionals who want to strengthen their approach to conservative offloading.
Across 64 focused lessons, 10 instructional chapters and five practical assignments, you’ll learn to assess pressure, shear, friction and tissue tolerance; select and combine materials with purpose; and design, fabricate, apply and evaluate conservative offloading interventions. Demonstrations, clinical examples and hands-on activities help strengthen clinical reasoning and build confidence in adapting techniques to individual feet, footwear and care needs.
Course content is released gradually over eight weeks, giving you time to practise techniques and complete assignments as you progress. Canadian students receive a curated Offloading Beginner’s Kit containing materials used throughout the course, while international students source comparable materials available in their own region. With 90 days of access, you’ll have time to revisit key demonstrations and complete the course without feeling rushed.

Chrystal Stevens

Chrystal has been a Licensed Practical Nurse since 2006 and is an Advanced Foot Care Nurse, educator and founder of Longevity Foot Care. Since opening Longevity in 2016, she has grown it into one of British Columbia’s largest community foot care practices, supporting clients in clinics, private homes, long-term care facilities and community living settings.
Chrystal is a licensed education provider with Foot Canada Training and serves as the British Columbia representative for the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses. Her teaching draws on extensive clinical experience and the decisions foot care nurses make each day.
She created Offloading Essentials to give nurses a clear framework for assessing pressure and shear, selecting materials, designing appropriate interventions and applying conservative offloading safely in practice.
