Longevity Foot Care provides dependable steam sterilization for foot care nurses and other clinical practitioners. Orders are billed by pouch size and processed using monitored sterilization equipment at our Duncan clinic.

Every sterilization order must include the completed and signed form. It records the pouch counts declared by the customer and verified by Longevity at check-in. If you do not have access to a printer, a complete signed handwritten breakdown is accepted. The Reprocessing SOP is also available as a professional reference for nurses.
Every order is counted and reconciled at check-in. Prepare and identify each pouch, record the pouch totals on the order form and transport the order in a hard, disinfectable plastic tote.

Sterilization pricing
Sterilization is billed according to the number and size of the pouches submitted.
Medium pouch
$2.75per pouch
Examples include pouches measuring approximately 5 × 7 inches or 2 × 11 inches.
Standard instrument set
$3.00per pouch
A standard instrument set in a pouch measuring approximately 5 × 11 inches.
Extra-large pouch
$4.50per pouch
Any sterilization pouch larger than 5 × 11 inches.
All prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to GST. If you are unsure which category applies to a pouch, contact us before submitting your order.
Best Practice Discount: A 10% discount may be granted when Longevity verifies at check-in that every pouch contains a Class 5 internal chemical indicator and that each instrument has been appropriately pouched on its own. The discount is not automatic; eligibility is determined by Longevity Foot Care.

Standard instrument-set sizing
This approximately 5 × 10-inch pouch is representative of the standard instrument-set category. Pricing is based on the final pouch size and the number of pouches submitted.
Order accountability
Declared and verified at check-in
The customer records the number of pouches submitted in each pricing category. When the order is received, Longevity staff count the pouches and compare the verified totals with the signed form before processing begins.
If the declared and verified counts do not match, the discrepancy is documented and the customer is contacted. Check-in confirms the pouch count; it does not confirm that instruments inside a sealed pouch were cleaned correctly before submission.

Two autoclaves support our sterilization workflow
Longevity Foot Care uses a Flight Clave 23 tabletop autoclave and an Enbio Class B autoclave. Using two units gives our team flexibility to configure cycles according to pouch size, instrument type and load requirements.

Monitoring completed as part of our process
Daily vacuum testing The Enbio Class B autoclave receives a vacuum test each day it is in use.
Biological monitoring Each sterilizer receives biological monitoring with a compatible indicator in an appropriate process challenge device at least once on every day it is used. If more than one cycle type is used that day, each cycle type is biologically monitored. Testing follows the sterilizer, indicator and process-challenge-device manufacturers' instructions.
Chemical monitoring Chemical indicator strip testing is included in every sterilization load.
Mechanical monitoring Cycle time, temperature and pressure are reviewed and documented for every sterilization cycle.

Before submitting an order
Instrument preparation guidelines
Please complete all four steps before your instruments are dropped off.
Clean and pouch all instruments
All instruments must arrive visibly clean, completely dry and placed in appropriately sized sterilization pouches. Pouches must not be overfilled.
Fold, seal and tag correctly
Fold self-seal pouches only along the intended fold line and do not over-fold. Place one identifying “tag” at the corner of every pouch using black permanent Sharpie only. Your tag may be your name, initials or business name.
Include the order form or written details
A completed and signed Longevity Sterilization Order & Check-In Form is required. If you cannot print the form, include a signed sheet of paper listing your name or business name, submission date, phone number or email, the identifying tag used on your pouches, the number of pouches in each pricing category and the total pouch count.
Use a hard plastic tote
Pack the prepared order securely in a hard, disinfectable plastic tote for transport and handling.
Recommended internal monitoring
Include a Class 5 indicator in each pouch
A Class 5 internal chemical indicator is recommended in every pouch. This provides package-level information and is separate from the chemical, biological and mechanical monitoring completed as part of Longevity's sterilization process.
When a pouch needs correction
Repouching fee
$1.50 per affected pouch
A repouching fee applies when a pouch must be replaced because it is overfilled, over-folded, improperly sealed, damaged, or marked with anything other than black permanent Sharpie. If an overfilled pouch must be divided, sterilization is charged according to the final number and sizes of pouches. Instruments that are not visibly clean and completely dry are returned unprocessed.
The order information is mandatory, but access to a printer is not. A complete signed handwritten breakdown is accepted when the form cannot be printed. Longevity staff organize each sterilization cycle after reviewing the number and size of the pouches submitted.
