Hospital nursing foot care · Arranged through our office

Nursing foot care during a hospital stay.

Longevity Foot Care provides planned bedside foot care for clients who are admitted to hospital. Each appointment is coordinated with the client or caregiver and the hospital unit before a nurse attends.

Care during admission

Foot care delivered at the bedside.

A licensed foot care nurse provides a focused assessment and nursing foot care according to the client’s needs, current health and ability to participate on the day of the appointment.

Assessment

Foot and nail assessment

The nurse reviews the condition of the feet, skin and nails and identifies concerns requiring follow-up.

Nail care

Routine and complex nail care

Toenails are trimmed and reduced using techniques selected for the client’s clinical needs and comfort.

Skin care

Corn and callus care

Corns, callus and dry or fragile skin are addressed when care is clinically appropriate during the visit.

Follow-up

Education and recommendations

The nurse documents relevant observations and provides practical recommendations for continuing care or referral.

Planned nursing service: Hospital foot care appointments support non-urgent foot care needs. Urgent or newly developing concerns should be reported directly to the hospital nursing or medical team.
Before an appointment is scheduled

Information and forms must be complete.

Hospital appointments require added coordination. Our scheduling team will guide the client, family member or coordinating person through each requirement.

01

Contact our office

Hospital visits are requested through Longevity’s scheduling office and are not available through online self-booking.

02

Complete the required forms

The client or authorized representative completes the requested intake, consent and policy acknowledgements before an appointment is scheduled.

03

Provide hospital details

We require the hospital name, current unit, room or bed, coordinating person’s name and a reliable day-of contact number.

04

Secure the appointment

A valid credit card is stored securely in Jane, and the cancellation and unsuccessful-visit policy is acknowledged before booking.

Hospital coordination

Help us arrive prepared.

Once the appointment date and time are confirmed, the coordinating person is responsible for keeping Longevity and the hospital unit informed.

  • Notify the unit’s nursing staff of the confirmed appointment date and time
  • Report any transfer, discharge, unit change or room change immediately
  • Share current access requirements and isolation precautions with our office
  • Arrange for the client to be available without a conflicting test, procedure or therapy
  • Ensure a reliable contact person can be reached on the day of the visit
Hospital visit policy

Cancellation and unsuccessful visits.

A hospital appointment reserves travel and clinical time for one client. Changes must be reported to our office as soon as they are known.

The full scheduled fee applies in the following situations:

  • Cancellation is received with less than 24 hours’ notice
  • The appointment is missed or the client is unavailable at the scheduled time
  • The nurse attends and the hospital unit was not informed of the appointment
  • The client was transferred, discharged or moved and Longevity was not notified
  • The visit cannot proceed because required access or isolation information was not provided
Hospital forms and documents

Forms are provided by our scheduling office.

After a hospital visit is requested, our scheduling office will provide the required forms and completion instructions. Completed client information is kept with the client’s secure record.

Please do not send credit card information or detailed personal health information through the website contact form.

Infection prevention

Prepared for careful bedside care.

Our nurses bring prepared clinical supplies and sterile instruments. Instruments are cleaned, inspected, packaged and sterilized using monitored medical-grade equipment, and sterile pouches remain sealed until the instruments are needed for care.
