FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Foot Care Services
❓What does a foot care appointment include?
Each visit includes a full assessment of your feet, nail and skin care, reduction of corns or calluses if present, and personalized education or product recommendations. We also screen for signs of complications like infection, fungal nails, or diabetic foot concerns.
❓Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is needed. You can book directly online or contact us to schedule an appointment.
❓Is this service covered by MSP or insurance?
Foot care is a private-pay service in British Columbia and not covered by MSP. However, many extended health insurance plans do provide partial reimbursement. We recommend checking with your provider.
❓How often should I get foot care?
Most clients benefit from care every 6–8 weeks to maintain healthy feet. We’ll recommend a schedule based on your individual needs and health conditions.
❓Is in-home care available for people who can’t travel?
Yes! We offer mobile foot care across the Cowichan Valley. A licensed foot care nurse will visit you in the comfort of your home. Learn more Learn more here.
❓What infection control practices do you follow?
We use medical-grade sterilization (autoclave) and follow the highest infection control standards. All instruments are sterile until point of use, and your nurse follows all provincial and nursing association guidelines.
❓Can you help with thick nails, ingrown toenails, or corns?
Absolutely. These are common issues we address during care. We use gentle, professional techniques to ensure comfort and long-term relief.
❓What payment methods do you accept?
In clinic, we accept debit and credit cards. In-home visits require a credit card on file, and we also accept e-transfers at the time of service.
❓Are your nurses trained and licensed?
Yes. All foot care services are provided by Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with specialized training in Advanced Foot Care. Our team also participates in continuing education to stay current.
❓Do you serve care facilities or group homes?
We do. Longevity Foot Care holds multiple facility contracts and provides reliable, ongoing foot care to residents in long-term care and assisted living settings. Contact us to learn more about facility partnerships.
