Clients often ask me how often they should have their nippers sharpened. There is no clear cut answer for this as there are many brands and styles of nippers being used in many different ways by many different people with different styles!

My best advise is to have your nippers looked after by me when they stop working well for you. This can be an indication of the nippers becoming dull, misshapen or that they require joint adjustments. I also suggest that you only have your nippers sharpened when they require it- rather then regular intervals. This is because everytime they are sharpened a certain amount of the metal will be removed- thus shortening the life of the nipper.
